Fig. 1 ITEM TYPE 3B — MATRIX REASONING
?
Which figure completes the series? Matrix reasoning items measure fluid intelligence — the ability to solve novel problems without reliance on prior knowledge.
§ I — Methodology

Six domains,
one composite score.

The iq-wiz assessment samples from the six most-replicated factors in the psychometric literature. Each domain contributes proportionally to the general factor g, following the Cattell–Horn–Carroll three-stratum model.1
I.

Pattern Recognition

Identification of visual and abstract regularities in series and matrices.

Raven-style
II.

Numerical Reasoning

Quantitative inference, sequence extrapolation, and proportional logic.

Adaptive
III.

Verbal Analogies

Semantic relations, taxonomic mapping, and lexical comprehension.

Cross-domain
IV.

Spatial Rotation

Mental manipulation of three-dimensional objects through arbitrary axes.

3D
V.

Logical Deduction

Syllogistic reasoning, conditional inference, and rule-based elimination.

Propositional
VI.

Working Memory

Short-term retention and simultaneous manipulation of item sets.

Span-based
§ II — Procedure

How the test is administered.

STEP 01

Begin the assessment

No account required. Find a quiet space; allow fifteen minutes of uninterrupted focus.

STEP 02

Answer twenty items

Each item is timed individually (45–90 seconds). Difficulty adapts to your performance as you proceed.

STEP 03

Receive your report

A breakdown across six cognitive domains, benchmarked against the normative sample.

§ III — Your Report

An individualised cognitive profile.

Upon completion, you will receive your performance across each of the six domains, an indication of where your scores fall within the normative population, and narrative commentary describing your distinctive cognitive pattern.

  • Composite score and percentile band
  • Per-domain performance with confidence intervals
  • Cognitive strengths and developmental areas
  • Item-level analysis and written commentary

§ V — Reception

What people have said.

"

The clearest picture I have seen of how my mind actually works. I expected another clickbait quiz; I received a proper report.

Maya R.
University student, 21
"

Well-constructed items and a methodology that does not insult your intelligence. The report gave me genuinely useful language for strengths I had sensed but never articulated.

Dr. H. Nakamura

"

I took three other tests online before finding iq-wiz. The others felt like horoscopes. This felt like a measurement.

Graduate researcher, 27
§ VI — FAQ
